Original artwork by Elizabeth Wright
I have lived in Denmark since 1973 where we farmed and raised our large family. I came to art later in life at the age of 41 beginning when I attended the local TAFE college to do art courses. As well I attended a privately run Ceramics course for two years then set up in my shed. I attended any and every workshop I could find and after some years, qualified to teach Ceramics at the Denmark, Mt Barker and Albany TAFE colleges.
I have always wanted to paint and so found an outstanding local artist of many years, by the name of Dez Brennan, who helped me develop my artistic abilities.
I am captivated by many different forms of art and currently I am using recycled fabrics and cotton rope to make items that allow me to express a myself in an art form which we can use in our day to day lives. It has been fulfilling to produce a form of art that is practical but also satisfy the artist in me.
