Scott Neil

I trained at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, Dundee Scotland and am now living in the beautiful Great Southern Region of Western Australia.

After many years painting coastal scenes of Scotland, I now take delight and inspiration from the vibrant landscapes and colours of Australia. The Australian landscape is an incredible mix of scenery from crystal blue water and iron red earth to silver sands and emerald forests all set under a truly big sky. It's a magical place for an artist to stop, stretch out all their senses and really observe and understand the landscape. I strive to capture that sense of place and time through use of colour, light, rhythm and brush marks. I have been exploring Western Australia, Queensland and parts of South Australia, enjoying the scenes you will see reflected in my artwork. Further trips across the length and breadth of Australia are planned with even more opportunities to capture these moments in paint.

I have also enjoyed success as an illustrator and have been honoured to be involved with Edinburgh World Heritage, Cubicle 7, Chaosium, AEG, Pelgrane Press, I Love the Corps Kickstarter, Conpulsion Edinburgh and Dragon Meet London.
